General Risk Assessment - 1 day
This course will provide adequate knowledge and practical skills to understand the principles of, and procedures for, carrying out risk assessments and will enable the delegate to improve their competency.
The programme is designed to assist delegates to become competent general risk assessors by utilising their existing knowledge and experience and provide a foundation for further learning.
To provide the delegate with a tool-kit for risk assessment in the workplace and to enable them to recognise when the need for specialist expertise is required.
Display Screen Equipment Training and Assessment (DSE)
We train your staff and carry out the risk assessments as a complete package. Any problems are resolved on the spot where possible and residual issues presented to the manager as an action plan. . This course is designed to assist display screen users to minimise risks to their health whilst using DSE. This efficient package is very popular as it meets legal obligations but does not eat up management time.
Train the Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Assessor “Training the Assessor” - 1 day
This course programme is designed to train key staff to be able to provide guidance to employees and to carry out competent DSE risk assessments. Delegates will obtain an overview of the Display Screen Equipment Regulations 1992 (as amended) including employer and employee responsibilities and how to manage the organisation’s DSE policy as well as an understanding of ergonomics, workstation design, correct seating and posture.
Delegates will learn how to carry out a DSE risk assessment and there will be a practical element to the course.
Stress Awareness for Managers and Employees - Half day
This course is designed to prepare delegates to look carefully at their own work activities and contribute to the development of strategies to combat work-related stress, in co-operation with their managers and supervisors. It will raise awareness of likely sources of work-related stress, the range of symptoms and effects it can cause and the options available for its control.
There will be opportunities to discuss issues specific to the delegate’s requirements.
Manual Handling Awareness - 2 hours
This course is designed for all employees who carry out manual handling activities at work and introduces delegates to the hazards of manual handling, the risks involved and controls available and what to expect from a manual handling assessment.
Health and Safety Awareness - 1 day
This course is designed to help managers and employees to achieve a basic understanding of Health and Safety legislation, understand their legal responsibilities, better manage health and safety risks in their work environment and identify areas for future action.
